Design with the climate in mind
Global warming impacts all of us. That’s why Interface Carbon Neutral Floors help you lower your carbon footprint with one positive step. When you buy Interface carpet from us, we calculate your floor’s carbon neutral credentials, providing exact contribution to reducing global warming. We also provide you a certificate stating the same.
In 2018, Interface estimated that they will purchase more than 400,000 metric tons of carbon offsets, equivalent to the carbon sequestered annually by nearly half a million acres of forest. That’s two-thirds of Yosemite National Park in California or two times the size of New York City.
Interface’s journey to carbon neutral floors
Interface has done the math. They know the impact their flooring has on the planet. Since 1994, they’ve been leading the industry to reduce the carbon footprint of their products. They introduced the Cool Carpet program in 2002 and began offsetting the full life cycle of greenhouse gas emissions for Americas carpet tiles.
They’ve continued to do this with their LVT as well, resulting in the offset of more than 4.3 million tons of carbon dioxide since 2002. They’ve also reduced the greenhouse gas emissions of their manufacturing by 96% and reduced the carbon footprint by over 60%—the lowest in the industry.
